How and when do I qualify for my Bounce Energy Rewards?
Answer: Bounce Energy’s Reward Programs are simple. All you have to do is pay your bill on-time and every 6 months you will earn a reward. For example, if you selected the Bounce Energy Reward Program and you paid your bill on time for 12 straight bills, you earn your choice of $50 in bill credits or a $50 VISA gift card.
Does Bounce Energy charge a deposit for new service?
Answer: A determination on whether you will need to pay a deposit is based on your utility and payment credit history. To find out if you will need to pay a deposit, just select your plan above and complete the sign up process. If you end up owing a deposit, you will be presented with deposit and/or other options.
What is the difference between a fixed-rate and variable-rate plan?
Answer: A fixed-rate electricity plan means the rate is locked in for a set period of time – such as 6, 12, or 24 months. In the case of an electricity purchase, this means you are locking in the price you will pay per KWh of electricity usage for a specific time frame. Fixed rates offer you a dependable bill because the energy price will not be affected by fluctuations in the wholesale energy market prices.
A variable-rate electricity plan is dependent upon the wholesale energy market prices. This means your energy rate could fluctuate monthly as opposed to a fixed-rate plan where you are locked in for an specific period of time. If you’re on a variable-rate plan, you could benefit when market energy prices decrease but your rate could rise when market prices rise.
What is the difference between the Average Rate and the Energy Charge?
Answer: The energy charge is simply the portion of your rate and bill from Bounce Energy. However, when you are looking at plans, the rate shown to you is an average energy rate at 2,000 kWh of usage and includes all of the fees, including those charged to you by your Transmission and Distribution Service Provider (TDSP, also known as the utility company) for your area. You can think of your average rate as your “all in” rate. You can see both your average rate and fixed energy charge displayed on your Electronic Facts Label, on your Bounce Energy bill and in your plan information in your MyAccount once you sign up.
Do I have to contact my current electricity or utility company when I switch my service to Bounce?
Answer: You do not need to contact your current electricity or utility company to cancel your service when you submit a switch of service to Bounce Energy. In the background, Bounce Energy will submit the switch request to your current electricity provider, and both parties ensure that you will not experience any interruption in service during the switch.
How long does it take to start service with Bounce Energy?
Answer: The simple answer is you could be a new Bounce Energy customer as soon as 24 hours (so you can quickly start saving and earning rewards). It actually depends on whether you are moving into a new home or switching to Bounce Energy from another provider. If you’re moving, you can select your start date for your new address up to ninety (90)days in advance. You usually need to give your Transmission and Distribution Service Provider (TDSP) three (3) business days to get your new home set up. However, if you’re in need of a faster set for your new home, Bounce Energy can provision a priority move-in for a fee. If you’re switching, you could moved to Bounce Energy by your TDSP as quickly as one (1) day, but most switches occur within seven (7) days. You can also select your switch date for up to 90 days in advance.
